Eliminating Undue Stress in Our Lives

When I come home after driving my car the keys either stay in my pants pocket or I put them in a specific place. At night when I take of my shoes they are then right beside my bed so that when I wake up I know where they will be. My desk may be a mess but I know where everything I need is. I am constantly telling my kids and my wife not to clean or move anything on my desk. Every Time they do I can no longer find things I may need.

I am constantly telling my kids and my wife not to clean or move anything on my desk. Every Time they do I can no longer find things I may need.

My Oldest son, Micah, when he comes home from work he takes off his shirt and just lays it someplace. The next day he tears up the house in a frenzy looking for his shirt. I remember once my wife pounding a nail beside the door and hanging her keys there. It took her almost a year before she realized that she hung them there. She tore apart the house numerous times looking for them. We finally spent almost a hundred dollars to get new keys made.

If you are constantly losing things then you need to put everything in a specific place and always put things in the same place. Why go through the stress of frantically trying to find something because you didn't follow this rule? If you are walking in your house and you trip over something then move that thing aside so that you don't trip again. I've seen my wife trip over the same object half a dozen times. It doesn't occur to her to move the object.

there are so many things we do that will make our lives a little easier. The ultimate goal is to reduce stress. Stress is probably the cause of the majority of problems in our lives. We can get sick unnecessarily because of the stress in our lives. It causes arguments with our loved ones and can ruin a day that would otherwise be a great day.

If something upsets you instead of reacting right away why not take a few minutes and do some heavy breathing? If i reacted at everything that upset me then i would have fewer friends and not that great of a relationship with my family.
There are many little things that we can do that will make life a lot easier.  Rather then setting these big long term goals which could take a long tiime to see results make little goals and give yourself a pat on the back every time you reach one of these mini goals.

And instead of having a different username and password for every site you blong to, your online banking, email, memberships, etc.. Why not use the same username and password for everything? You can always change the username and password once a month if you are worrid about somebody figuring them out. When starting a project finish it before starting another. Otherwise you will have all these unfinished projects in your life.

"We cannot solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."
-Albert Einstein

Each one of us has different levels of resiliency when it comes to dealing with our life situations. Do you need to learn some ways of becoming more resilient? Take this brief Stress Quiz and find out!

   1. Do you worry constantly and cycle with negative self-talk?
   2. Do you have difficulty concentrating?
   3. Do you get mad and react easily?
   4. Do you have recurring neck or headaches?
   5. Do you grind your teeth?
   6. Do you frequently feel overwhelmed, anxious or depressed?
   7. Do you feed your stress with unhealthy habits-eating or drinking excessively, smoking, arguing, or avoiding yourself and life in other ways?

The most important first step in dealing with your stress is to accept and acknowledge that it is your emotional reaction to a situation or event in your life that causes your stress, not the situation itself. We cannot often do anything about the situation, but we can work with our reaction to the situation-this is where our power is!

I created the Snap Out Of It NOW! Method to help myself, and now you, to become more resilient and more creative. In other words, to learn how to interrupt and SNAP Out of the destructive cycle of emotional reactions that are engaged when faced with a difficult life situation.

Breathing Awareness Exercise:

The breath is your key to self-resiliency. The breath is your entry into your body-bringing light to the darkness, warmth to the coldness, and boundless possibilities for breaking free from your everyday reality.

The following exercise takes less than a minute and you can do it anywhere-at the grocery store, in your car during traffic, even in the middle of a fight or disagreement with another person. Sometimes just one single minute can be your best friend!

Launch Yourself to Places You Have Never Gone Before!

   1. STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN-acknowledge you are stuck in a negative think-feeling pattern-you are stuck in a destructive cycle of reactions within your own body.
   2. Become aware of your BREATH by listening to your breath going in and out your nose. Enter your body with your breath.
   3. BREATHE to the negative feeling sensation in your body that is present wherever it may be, and as you exhale you are releasing the disharmony within your body. You are NOW free to deal with the situation in a creative new way!

You are shifting the state of your body and mind away from disharmony (frustration, anger, fear) back to its natural state of harmony (appreciation, love, joy)! Within this state of harmony you are more flexible, resilient, and creative. Is it not wonderful to have a tool that will launch you into possibilities you never saw before!

Stress, the word brings so much in the minds of all people. Stress has become as common as the flying birds in the sky. It is very difficult to find a place where there are no birds, and similarly it is very difficult to find a person who is not stressed. This article tries to find out if screensavers with natural backgrounds can fight stress.

Every thing causes stress. Every situation causes stress. Every thought causes stress. That is our life. How to fight this stress? Most of us feel less stressed when we go out in the outdoors, in the glory of nature. Watching flying birds, flowing water, lovely flowers, animals moving around in the jungles, and all such situations help us get relaxed and fight stress. Can screensavers that carry these images fight stress? They can if the pictures are life like and lovely.

Why does anything that looks natural make us relax? Because nature is relaxed. You will never find anything in a hurry in  nature. That relaxation of nature makes us forget our stress. When we view beautiful scenes full of relaxed objects, we get relaxed ourselves. Screensavers that have images of nature such as flowers, mountains, streams, birds, clouds, sunsets, waterfalls, beaches, animals etc. make us feel good. If instead of static images, the visuals are in a video format, that is still better. That makes everything look more real. How should we use such screensavers?

Remember that screensavers were originally intended to protect the computer screens. With advent of technology, this is not needed now. You can download many screensavers with relaxing images and whenever you feel stressed, you can select any of them and play it. Watching it will slowly relax your frayed nerves. Some screensavers have beautiful music accompanying them. These can all soothe your nerves and help energize you for work again. Some screensavers also have text messages appearing along with the natural visuals. Reading such messages also helps us to re-motivate ourselves for the work ahead. Thus screensavers are a very effective method for self-relaxation, which you can use with your PC, without even moving out of your seat. Managers must try out the method of screensavers for relaxation in this highly stressed world.

You have exactly five minutes to get to work and you discover a major traffic tie-up along the freeway.

You see the orange pylons and suddenly realize that you are stuck in a construction zone. The stress of being late for work seems overwhelming.

Or, perhaps it's 5:30 p.m. and you're rushing to pick your four-year-old up from day care.

A car suddenly veers in front of you and you have to slam on the brakes. You barely avoid an accident. Again, your stress level is rising and you're finding it difficult to cope.

In today's world, driving is a major cause of stress. Many of us spend countless hours stuck in traffic jams. There seem to be more cars on the road than ever before.

In many American cities, traffic problems are a major public safety issue. And, at times, it might seem as if drivers are less courteous than they've ever been.

Another source of stress is the care and maintenance of your vehicle. You have to worry about paying insurance costs, inspection fees, rising gas prices, and basic maintenance bills. The financial stress involved in keeping a car on the road can seem tremendous.

Also, you might be saddled with a car that has constant break-downs. If you feel as if your car is not secure, it can be quite a stressful experience.

For parents, chauffeuring children can be quite a stressful time. You might have to referee fights between children as you drive. Or you might have to find innovative ways to keep children occupied during long commutes.

Keeping children well-fed in the car can also be quite stressful. In desperation, you might pull into a drive-thru, where the wait seems intolerable.

Driving stress is a fact of modern life. There will always be potholes, discourteous drivers, cranky passengers. You will inevitably encounter traffic jams on your way to work, to the store, or to school.

There will always be times when you grip the wheel, wondering whether you'll be able to make it.

While you cannot eliminate the stress of the road, there are ways to curtail it. For instance, you might consider investing in some restful CDs. Classical music can be quite soothing on a difficult driving day.

Or you might like to listen to a CD of nature sounds as you are trying to negotiate your way through traffic.

If you don't have a CD player, cassette tapes are another possibility. Also, if you cannot afford to purchase tapes or CDs at a record store, consider purchasing them at a yard sale or church bazaar. You can even borrow tapes and CDs from your local library.

You'll find that you're better able to handle the stress of driving with some pleasant sounds emanating from your car stereo.

Another thing you might consider is changing your route. If you inevitably end up in traffic jams on the freeway, consider using residential streets instead.

While you might find that your commute time is longer, you might also discover that your stress is reduced considerably when your route is changed.

Another technique that many drivers use is to start out five to ten minutes earlier than they need to. That way, you don't have to operate under such a time crunch.

Those five or ten minutes can make quite a difference to your daily commute.

In addition, you might enjoy having those extra minutes to yourself once you arrive at school or at work.

Driving is a necessary daily chore for most of us. The trick is to make it as enjoyable as possible in order to lessen our stress levels. Investing in a comfortable seat cushion or a relaxing back rest can do wonders for our frame of mind.

Singing or whistling in the car can be another effective stress-reducer. Playing games with your children—such as trying to spot out-of-state license plates—can be yet another effective stress-reducing technique.

Chances are you will not be able to reduce your stress level overnight. Many of us have become quite used to stress on the road. However, by trying to make our trips as pleasant as possible, we can go a long way to lessening driving-induced stress.

Amazingly, there are still a number of people who are unaware that they're already stressed out and need relief from it as soon as possible. Or rather, there are some who refuse to acknowledge that they badly need relief from stress.

If you're unsure about this as well, let us give you some examples of symptoms that are commonly associated with stress:

Workaholics who make overtime work seem like a regular part of the job are usually bothered with insomnia and muscle aches because they've upset their biological clock and they have no time at all for badly needed exercise. If this describes you, then yes, you are already experiencing stress and you need relief from it right away.

Workaholics who have high paying but demanding and high pressure jobs always have to be on the go and prepared for any eventuality. Hence, they tend to have increased appetite or loss of due to lack of time for eating; an increased intake of sugar and caffeine to ensure that they can do the work of ten people; high cholesterol levels because they don't have the time to ensure that they have a healthy diet and of course, feelings of anxiety when they're worrying about the outcome of a job or project.

Does that describe you? If so, then yes, you do need stress relief right away.

Other typical symptoms of stress are impotence (unfortunately for the males), migraines and headaches, depression and a weakened immune system.

Now let's just say that you've found out you do need relief from stress. What should you do next then?

Follow our two-step-guide so that you'll gain relief from stress – dubbed as the #1 Health Problem of America -- although obesity may share that notorious title as well – in no time at all.

First, you need to enrich, enhance and improve your time management skills. If Stephen Covey says it's a must then who are we to argue? But seriously, with better time management, you'll be able to give the proper amount of attention on yourself, on the type of food you eat and on the time you allow yourself to relax. Not only will it provide you stress relief, it will also take you out of the candidate list for heart attack, high blood pressure and diabetes, among other scary diseases.

Second and lastly, take proper medication. Herbal medicine is something worth considering because it contains all natural ingredients therefore decreasing the risk of experiencing any ill side effects. But always consult your doctor first before taking any medication!

Article Body:
With any dissatisfaction the first step is resolve the conflict between head and heart. Emotion is a guiding signal. When apathy, dissatisfaction and depression set in then it is a sign something must change. This something could be in the heart or in the head (a change of perspective). Apathy is stagnation, or lack of movement, change by its very meaning indicates movement and so the stagnation is broken.

We all need to feel important and that we are contributing in a worthwhile way. You have one of two choices, either find something to engage yourself in at work, or to change your career path. For most people the second option is what is really needed, though they fear it the most. They have taken a job that offers 'financial security' instead of following their dreams; and so imagination, inspiration and motivation all atrophy.

However these dreams do not truly die and can be reawakened with the correct guidance. By clearing the fears and 'what ifs' around change, and in this case specifically the change of career, then his head will no longer try to suppress his heart. He is one step closer to resolving the inner conflict that causes the tension that is experienced, and reflected, in all areas of his life.

By using Energy Psychology Techniques such as EFT these fears can be released completely, often in one short session. There are often a collection of fears and each specific fear can be identified and treated. Examples include the fear of not having enough money should things go wrong; the fear of not being good enough in the new career; the fear of being successful and the responsibility that would bring. It is these fears that cloud or block our motivation or desire to change.

Many people go to motivational seminars or listen to motivational audio's to find the inspiration to change their lives. The only problem is they are feeding from someone else's motivational energy. Shortly after the seminar this energy fades and they are back where they started. The word motivation is derived from the word motive meaning 'the reason why'. It is essential if we want to have lasting motivation we discover our own personal reason why, our own purpose.

When we have purpose we feel important and so our lives have meaning again. Friedrich Nietzsche once observed 'He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how'. To achieve maximum motivation and to discover life purpose there is a very simple formula: Max Motivation = Passion + Purpose. Otherwise stated as find what you most enjoy in life, give it a purpose and you will find motivation to achieve it.

Life is on average only 4000 weeks long. With only 7 days in every week you do not have time to sit waiting for life to get better. You create your own life through the choices you make. These choices are restricted by the fears and limiting beliefs you have established over a life time, many having come directly from your parents or society. Every excuse you have for life not being different is just that, an excuse. It is a reflection of those fears and beliefs that have limited you so long.

Don't waste another day, learn some techniques such as EFT that will clear those fears and limiting beliefs and set you free to live your life with passion and purpose. This new sense of joy for life will be reflected in your working life, your personal life and your overall experience of life. A final thought from Howard Wight, 'If you are ultimately going to do something important that will make a real difference…. do it now'.

While the consequences of a particular fear may seem real, there are usually other factors that can not be anticipated and can affect the results of any situation. Get all of the facts of the situation and use them to your advantage.

Sometimes, we can get anxious over a task that we will have to perform in the near future. When this happens, visualize yourself doing the task in your mind. For instance, you and your team have to play in the championship game in front of a large group of people in the next few days. Before the big day comes, imagine yourself playing the game in your mind. Imagine that your playing in front of a large audience. By playing the game in your mind, you will be better prepared to perform for real when the time comes. Self -Visualization is a great way to reduce the fear and stress of a coming situation.

Many times we get overwhelmed with many different tasks at our jobs. When this happens, a person should take a deep breath and try to find something to do for a few minutes to get their mind off of the problem. A person could take a walk, listen to some music, read the newspaper or do an activity that will give them a fresh perspective on things. This will help you to refocus on your present situation.

Colloidal = a solid (in this case gold) of minute particles, that remain in suspension in a surrounding liquid (in this case de-ionized water).

Gold has always been the prize of desire, but now the elixir of choice? We know that this precious metal has been a primary building block of the body. Very little research is underway to find how such a crucial metal in our body is being lost and not constantly replenished.

Europeans have long used colloidal gold as a supplement in their diet to replenish this key element of the body. In using colloidal gold as a supplement, arthritis sufferers noticed reduced swelling and pain. In some cases pain was eliminated entirely. Extensive European studies and use showed that stress levels were controlled, and that depression and anxiety faded away while patients diets were supplemented with colloidal gold.

The overseas reports conclude that colloidal gold has a most positive effect on the nerve structure and brain. Gold being one of the best conductors of electricity, it isn't at all surprising that the supplementing of gold to a body that is gold depleted, would improve the overall function of the nervous system including improved memory and quicker thought processes.

Memory loss comes with age and is joked about by the "50 and over" crowd. However memory loss is temporary and can be improved. Mental exercises, diet and supplements have shown that memory loss can be avoided or reversed and in most cases improved.

Dementia can be caused by several factors such as stroke, circulation, Alzheimer's and more but the common thread is poor conductivity in the brain. Dementia and memory loss are treatable. Most sufferers don't or cannot help themselves. If dementia is left untreated, memory loss worsens. As dementia escalates in an individual, their plight becomes the families' everyday responsibility to care for an adult as if they were a very small child. Dementia affects the caretaker in ways greater than the patient.

Gold has long been known to promote healthier skin, reduce the healing time of burns and clear up skin ulcers. For many years the Europeans have used colloidal gold to combat alcohol addiction. Again memory loss due to alcohol abuse affects the brain and a gold supplement would be the obvious choice.

Colloidal trace minerals derived from plant material are the easiest absorbed of all minerals. Single colloidal minerals such as silver, gold, and platinum can be electrically reduced to a size that is readily assimilated into the blood stream.

This all natural ingredient of our body is not replenished by the foods we eat. Our alternative is to seek out colloidal gold and other trace minerals to keep the required levels for a healthy body.

Dealing With Stress The Stress-Free Way

Dealing With Stress The Stress-Free Way

Word Count:

Summary:
Stress is the curse of the 21st Century. Work, family life and even planning a holiday can stress you out. So who do you go anbout de-stressing without getting stressed out about it?

Keywords:
stress, anxiety, personal development, self improvement, self help, personal growth

Article Body:
Sometimes the workplace feels like a battle zone. With much emphasis placed on the importance of the company goals, markets and business plan much of the workforce feel an increasing pressure to perform at top levels at all times. Inevitably these requirements lead to stress and this must be tackled before it affects staff morale and productivity!

I remember working in a restaurant many years ago and having to go out into the main mall and perform, what appeared to be, ludicrous exercises. We all thought it was designed to keep the workforce fit but it is actually an ancient Chinese method of stress relief.

Tai Chi Chuan is a practise that the Chinese used to relieve stress and, in fact, try to avoid it in the first place. During the time of Mao Tse Tung this practise was widespread. At the beginning of each work day hundreds of employees were asked to meet at the main squares all over China to exercise. It is an elementary form of Tai Chi, the practice of extremely slow martial arts movements designed to balance the flow of Chi (life energy) around the meridian points of the body.

The majority of people who practise some kind of stress control in the work place tend to be more successful in their careers and much more productive. You know the old axiom "a happy worker is a productive worker!"

Some careers may be more stressful than others or more stressful at other times. However, the machine operator in a factory can be just as stressed as the office Administrator because each person is unique and each person's problems are just as important to them as the CEO's company problems are to him/her. Large corporations and medium sized companies tend to overlook this and must become aware of the situation if they wish to improve company productivity because the workers are the company!

"Tension Prevention" is the name of the game. Stress management can be easily taught to the workforce by providing the knowledge and skills needed to identify rising stress levels and how to combat them.

Good communication between all levels of the workforce, from upper management, to the labourer, is a very effective way of combating stress. Just the knowledge that someone is listening and prepared to take action on issues is enough to seriously reduce stress levels.

Some jobs require a certain level of pressure but when this pressure get to a point when the worker feels he/she has no control then stress ensues. This sense of urgency can have a very destructive effect on not only one worker but on the company as a whole and starts snow-balling out of control badly affecting staff morale. Controlling stress at work will also reduce the negative impact on inter personal relationships outside work. Improving communication, time management and understanding of the affects of stress is key way to generate a peaceful environment and increased productivity.

Current research suggests that fixed work-schedules contribute the most to increased levels of stress, the feeling that there is insufficient time to complete personal daily work tasks accounts for the greatest cause of stress at work.

By incorporating a stress management system which is focused on time-dependent tasks, an anti-stress program to help workers combat stress, scheduled rest breaks, reward for productive stress-free work and combating non-productive workers that put pressure on their colleagues are all solutions that work.

Working with clients for hypnotherapy in High Wycombe and surrounding areas I notice that stress and anxiety are everywhere and can cause many problems if ignored. Relaxation exercises, and other stress management techniques can be very helpful in overcoming stress and anxiety caused by everyday life.

Self Hypnosis is also very beneficial and hypnosis downloads such as  can be of significant help.

Due to a variety of socio-economic conditions, stress has now become more widely recognised by both individuals and employers. People in the UK lose several thousand days of work not to mention great personal anxiety that can lead to marital discord, depression, panic attacks and many other problems.

At The Mind Works we offer a comprehensive stress management programme using Hypnotherapy in High Wycombe and around the counrtry for both individuals and corporate clients to help with stress and anxiety in an immediate way and also to offer long term strategies.

Effective stress management takes in various therapeutic models and tailors a programme to include not just dealing with the presenting stress but to also help clients to avoid reaching high stress levels in the first place. Hypnosis can help with stress by;

• Teaching relaxation techniques and relaxation exercises, thereby developing new ways to relax naturally (the relaxation response instead of the stress response).

• Positive thinking can help with panic attacks, anxiety and fears.

• Creating an understanding of stress using cognitive techniques and the reasons for stress and addressing those stress factors on different levels giving an understanding of the individual nature of stress and creating positive outcomes for the future.

Remember stress and anxiety can cause problems in very clever and unhelpful ways. One of the best ways to combat stress is to exercise but then who wants to exercise when dealing with stress. Although I use Hypnotherapy in High Wycombe I also work with clients around the country and utilize additional therapeutic interventions.

Curing Anxiety Without Medication...What The Professionals Don't Want You To Know.

Curing Anxiety Without Medication...What The Professionals Don't Want You To Know.

Word Count:

Summary:
This is an article written by a psychotherapist which gives a brief discussion of the shocking reasons why psychiatrists and pharmaceutical companies hide secrets from you...the very secrets that can cure your anxiety for good...without medication!

Keywords:
anxiety, stress, cure anxiety, pharmaceutical, psychiatrist, relaxation, medication, mental health, counseling, psychiatric, psychology

Article Body:
As a psychotherapist in private practice for over a decade, I certainly have seen it all: watching my clients suffer through anxiety and stress, watching them go from medication to medication looking for "the right pill", and rarely finding it, spending inordinate amounts of money desperately trying to find the correct method to make their stress go away.

Can Anxiety Be Cured By A Pill or through Mental Health Counseling?

Anxiety is a complex issue...not just something that can be cured through popping a pill, or through one or two visits to a mental health counseling professional. And while a combination of both medication and counseling can be effective, unfortunately it can take years to see results...and often a lot of money.

If I Do Decide To Take Medication And See A Therapist, What Is The Best Type Of Therapy And Medication I Should Take To Help My Anxiety?

I can't answer that for you specifically, because every one is different (for example, you may have an allergy that precludes you from using a certain type of medication; Or you may not take well to a specific model of psychotherapy). That said, I can say that I have seen many of my clients do pretty well with what is known as "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy", in combination with a medication that their psychiatrist prescribed.

Isn't There Any Way To Get Rid Of My Anxiety Right Away, Instead Of Waiting The Years It Can Take For Medication and Counseling to Kick In?

Yes. For every year it takes to go through therapy and anti-anxiety medication, people can actually learn to make their anxiety disappear in 10 to 15 minutes. That doesn't mean that counseling and medication aren't viable options...but they are not the end-all cure-all for anxiety...they are merely supplements to help you get better. The majority of the work is done by "you". Not to mention...you save a great amount of your money and time.

Why Don't Psychiatrists Ever Tell You That You Can Learn to Make Your Anxiety Disappear On Your Own?

Bottom line: Because they need to make a living. If you did not see them for visits, these docs would not be in business. Don't get me wrong...there are some darn good professionals out there in the field of psychiatry.

But, the fact is, if the docs and shrinks let you know that you can learn, in 10-15 minutes, the secrets to curing your anxiety...they would lose a great deal of income.

So what is working at home, and coping with stress, really all about? The following reports includes some fascinating information about working at home, and stress --info you can use not just the old stuff they used to tell you.

Most of us have been stressed working at home at some point. Aside from the stress of having to find new clients and new jobs, we often encounter stress because jobs come in mad, occasional bursts. Some days our to do list is almost empty, and the following days it seems like we can hardly keep up.

Deadlines can be overwhelming, and when one is affected, effectiveness plunges. The brain is no longer focused on creativity and action.

When stress level stack up, here what to do. First, reduce stress by... Stopping. Sounds a bit basic, and it's really hard to do, just stop. Stress can cause health problems or make problems worse if you don't learn ways to deal with it.

The next step is to find a way to deal with your stress. A simple way is to avoid the circumstance that leads to our stress--but often this is not feasible. Another way is to change how we react to stress. This is often the best way.

Well, it's time to take heart and set a few simple strategies in place that will keep us in control of our time...and our sanity.

Tips for dealing with working at home stress-

1) Eat a healthy, balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables. Reduce or eliminate caffeine (coffee, black and green tea, cola drinks, and chocolate). Because caffeine is a stimulant, it can make you feel more anxious.

2) Exercise. It relieves tension and provides a timeout from stressful situations.

3) Try to take time everyday to slow down and do something you enjoy, even if it is just for a few minutes. Reading a magazine, playing with your dog, listening to music, reading a book or any other activity that helps you forget the stresses of your day can calm you and help you remember what is important.

4) Work at being cheerful and optimistic. Use humor to lighten difficult situations.

5) Take very long, relaxing deep breaths anytime you notice you're feeling stressed.

6) If the nature of any of your tasks allow it, call upon a colleague who can help you. If you've never done this before, now is the perfect time to start. The nice thing about this sort of arrangement is your colleague will most likely send jobs your way when he or she gets overloaded.  (Warning: do not hand over tasks that must be carried out only by you as the principal of the business. Your reputation is important.)

7) Organizing and simplifying your life. If one of your main sources of stress is the sheer number of things that need to be done, getting organized should help you feel more at peace. A good sense of organization will also make you more efficient. Simplifying your life also should help you feel less overwhelmed.

Set Achievable Daily Goals. If you finish a task ahead of schedule, start the next... but stick to a definite cut-off time each day. What you are doing this week is set up a system that will continue to work for you.

Follow these tips and before you know it, your home business dream will be on track once again.

That's how things stand right now. Keep in mind that any subject can change over time, so be sure you keep up with the latest news.

Stress at most jobs is unavoidable.  It could be caused by a boss who is very demanding, or a coworker who doesn't pull his or her weight.  Or maybe you have a typically stressful position, such as medicine or law.  While some stress on the job can drive you to succeed and be healthy, too much can be very bad.  It can cause many health problems and be detrimental.

Because of this, it is important that learn effective stress management techniques for the job.  While many stress-inducing factors may be out of your control, like dealing with you boss, there are ways to cope that could save your life.

The average number of hours of work has gone up eight percent in one generation---to 47 hours a week.  One out of five Americans work as much as 49 hours a week.  This can be a great source of stress, not just at work, but at home too.  A high rate of divorces is credited each year to long hours at work.

It is important to realistically assess the hours you work each week.  Can you cut back and still get the job done?  Can you delegate your tasks to co-workers?  Can you develop a more flexible schedule?  If you consider these options, your job-related stress can diminish significantly.

Overworking can cause many health problems.  You might become sick more often, which will force you to call in sick at work.  Work absenteeism is costing American companies a lot of money, which makes workplaces less productive.

Americans also feel a great deal of stress because they no longer feel secure in their jobs.  Layoffs and company bankruptcies have exploded in recent years.  With very little job security, employees live in constant fear that they will not have a job the next day.   And because of this, people worry about their retirement funds.  It is because of these factors that employees now have little loyalty to their employers, stress for both all parties involved.

Because the workplace climate has changed, it is important that our own outlooks change as well.  Employees need to try to reduce their stress, even though they might not feel secure in their jobs.  That might mean opening a separate retirement fund and making regular contributions toward retirement.  If you work on being proactive, chances are your stress levels will decrease.  Face the fact that you are in charge of your destiny, and take control of your future.  You will feel a sense of freedom, and less unhealthy stress.

Stress comes in many forms, workplace stress, family stress, grief over loss of a loved one, etc... Some can be avoided, but as we know, many cannot. Some people handle stress better than others, and some even thrive onit.Regardless, stress takes its toll.

Stress has been proven to rid your body of many essential vitamins and minerals. Particularly vitamins C, E, and B. This leads to lethargy, lower focussed mental activities (clinically stress causes more erratic brain activity and a reduction in short term and long term memory), drying out and aging of the skin (in some), and in others a increase in the sebaceous gland activity - which usually brings postules, acne, and rosacea - which all bring more stress as we then become more entangled in how others view our physical appearance.

We cannot stop all stress, but we can take steps to stop or limit its toll on our skin and body. Take a full vitamin suplament every day. Eat a well balanced diet - especially fish meat like salmon (high in omega 3's which is proven to increase brain function and cellular activity, but it also is proven to reduce the aging process of the skin and make cuts and bruises heal faster). Eat more raw fruits and vegetables - atleast 5 servings per day - you will see a notable difference in 4-6 weeks and you will feel better (along with better colon health.

Exercise more often. Aerobic exercise has been proven to release powerful hormones that actually counteract the harmful chemicals and results of stress as it will also improve your bodys abilities to cope with oxidants.

I can't say enough about meditation and prayer. Study after study have proven a reduction in every skin and body malody even cancer symptoms from people that pray and meditate daily. Take 20 minutes every day and do this you will also live longer.

The latest rage is skin peels for a quick fix. Skin peels will slough off the top layers of skin and reveal fresher, cleaner skin. The most effective are TCA peels and phenol peels (phenol peels are dangerous and should only be performed by a licensed plastic surgeon). TCA, trichloroacetic acid, is a medium depth skin peel that works on the most skin ailments - aging skin, sun damage, even has been proven to treat and cure acne. No other skin peel can safely do all that a TCA peel can.

So there you have it - clear, younger skin in 500 words. Great advice to follow and don't forget to always run anything new by your doctor. They are licensed for a reason and know whats best for you. by your doctor. They are licensed for a reason and know whats best for you.

Finding the time to shop on top of all the other daily stresses we encounter just adds to our dilemma. (No, I am not going to try and sell you products here or give you gift ideas.)

Holidays bring about their own added stress with all the shopping and party going that must be done.  For some it is the straw that breaks the camels back so before it arrives we must be prepared to cope with it.

Stress is an inevitable part of life. We will never be able to get rid of it completely. In fact, you wouldn't want to get rid of it completely because, believe it or not, stress is also good for you. Stress revs up our internal engines and makes us ready to take action. The problems arise when we don't take care of the situations at hand.  This keeps our engines running but we are not going anywhere. Life is not meant to be lived as a Formula 1 Race.

Lily Tomlin once said, "Some people say life is a rat race.  If we take that attitude, then even if you win, you are still a rat".

Life doesn't have to be a rat race.  We can learn to live with stress as we learn to allow balance into our lives.

How can we cope with stress?
The first step in coping with stress is to be sure that we get enough sleep.  This is the first area that people fail in.  They feel that because there is so much to do they need to cut back on sleep in order to get more time in their day. This is a never-ending devil's circle because the less sleep we have the more tired we are and the less able to cope and then the more stress we feel.

Dealing with stress does not depend on the quantity of time we have but on the quality. If we are well rested we are clear headed and able to come up with solutions to our problems. If we are overtired we will accomplish little and keep going in circles.

Try and find a balance in your sleep cycle. Go to bed the same time each night and get yourself into a routine that your body can count on.

So rule #1  Get more sleep.

Rule #2 Eat a balanced diet.

What does diet have to do with stress?  Everything!  Our bodies need to run as a well tuned engine.  If we feed it crap you will feel like crap.  You need a balanced diet with fruits and vegetables and lots of water to keep running well.
Rule #3 Stop Procrastinating

Procrastination is the biggest stress producer. If you don't have time to tackle your problems all at once at least put aside some time each day to work on a part of the problem.  Take care of it in little chunks and before you know it the problem is gone.

A Mountain is moved one stone at a time. Start moving your stones and you'll get rid of your mountain.

Rule #4 Manage Your Time Effectively

Just like money, time also must be budgeted.  You only have so many hours in a day and they must be used judiciously. Balance here is the key.  Make sure to take some time to work, deal with problems and relax.

You must be sure to include relaxation time for yourself, even if it is only 15 minutes a day.  Add it to your schedule and make sure you take this time for yourself.  Even if you must go to your room and lock the door to get it, be sure to do it.

There are many things you can do to relax and get your mind at ease.  Simple things such as a walk outside can help restore frazzled nerves and give you time to reflect on your life.  Other choices would be a nice, warm bath, or a quiet spot where you can meditate.

Mediation does not have to be anything grand or complicated.  Just find some quiet time and let all cares out of your mind.  Think of nothing for 15 minutes.  I find it easier to imagine a black screen in front of me. Every time a thought comes through my mind I remind myself that I do not want to think right now. My black screen is on.   Just do nothing, think nothing, be totally at peace for 15 minutes.  It will do wonders for you.  After you will find that you can think much more clearly. A quiet mind brings about answers that you would never usually think of.

Lastly, the effects stress will have on you is dependant upon the way you react to it. Stress is like the bully at school who keeps coming around to taunt you. You can let him have your candy or you can stand up and do something about it. The choice is yours.

May the Christmas season bring you peace.

God Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
Courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference

The holidays are upon us and instead of leisurely sipping eggnog around the fireplace, we find ourselves in a frenzy trying to get all too many things done in anticipation of that one perfect, albeit elusive holiday moment.

Despite expectations, holidays are a time when many of us end up so stressed and overworked, the joy is completely lost. Nonetheless, the holidays really should be about family, friends, renewal, and even fun.

As we all know, achieving any dream is not magic, it is mostly hard work. It is worth it though, otherwise we wouldn't go at it so hard year after year. A little bit of balance and planning can go a long way toward de-stressing the holidays and making at least some of those holiday dreams a reality. Here are some tactics to help you deal with the pressures of the holiday season.

Prioritize.

Prioritize, organize and simplify. Sit down and think about your goals. What do you really want out of the holidays? What do you need? What does your family want and need? Don't make assumptions. Talk about it. Needs and expectations change as children grow and family networks variously shrink and expand. Disgruntled family members mean stress for all.

Budget.

Establish your budget realistically and conservatively. There is pressure from every direction to overspend during the holidays. But spending now with the knowledge you will still be paying it off this time next year can zap every bit of the joy out of the season. Be realistic and be honest. Set your budget and stick to it. Despite what advertisers want you to think, the reason for the season is not to spend as much money as possible.

Schedule your Time.

Be just as realistic about your time as you are about your money. Cooking big meals may not be practical. Use convenience foods or pre-cooked options to round out your holiday table. Don't be afraid to ask others to pitch in. Do your shopping online instead of at the mall, and have the gifts delivered. Realistically decide which invitations you will accept and which ones you will not. Discuss priorities openly with friends and family members. Reevaluate and reduce you commitments to bring them in line with manageable reality.

Remember to Relax.

It is easy to forget your everyday good habits during holidays. The stress and frenzy of the season can quickly take its toll. None of us want to be that horrible relative who always manages to spoil the fun for everyone else. Be consciously aware of your stress and fatigue levels. Take a deep breath before you fly off the handle. Learning to keep your cool not only helps reduce the harmful effects of excess stress on your mind and body, it will also help keep stress levels down for all those around you and everybody will be more relaxed and have more fun.

Exercise.

Experts everywhere acknowledge the value of good aerobic exercise in stress reduction and well being. We all know this fact, but often forget it during holidays. Don't. Even if it is only for a few minutes at a time, incorporate physical exercise into your day. Spend a few minutes on your exer-cycle. Take a quick walk. Take the stairs. Is there dancing at the holiday party? Join the fun. It's good for you. Get the idea? Holiday or no, make grabbing opportunities for exercise a regular part of your everyday routine.

Watch What you Eat.

Good nutrition is for good health and every day feel-goods. It is easy to load up on junk during holidays, especially when you may not have time for real meals and then face lavish party spreads. The whole process wreaks havoc with your waistline and your health. You slow down, and your disease resistance is compromised. As a result, you can end up run down and sick right in the middle of the festivities. Despite endless yummy temptations, you do need to make certain your body is properly nourished. Grab a piece of fruit instead of dipping into that candy bowl and at the very least remember your vitamins.

Watch your Alcohol Consumption.

Food is not the only holiday temptation. Be aware of your alcohol limit and drink responsibly. A season of festivities can be draining in more than one way. Pace yourself, especially if you have a round of parties to attend. Even a couple drinks can reduce your energy level the next day, and if you have a heavy schedule, you may want to go pass on the alcohol altogether. You can count on a hangover spoiling the next day completely, and if you have plans with others, it may be more than your own day that is spoiled. Needless to say, if you are an alcoholic, holidays are not the time to skip AA meetings.

Get Adequate Rest.

Sometimes easier said than done, since the holidays can be a true frenzy. There are gifts to buy and wrap, cards to send, parties to attend, parties to throw, houses to clean, meals to cook and in the middle of all this, most of us still have jobs to do, kids to take care of and families that need our attention. Just thinking about it can make you tired, but fatigue and overwork impair judgment, and shorten tempers. It will wear you out physically and emotionally. And the lovely holiday you were working so hard to create can be dashed by hurt feelings exacerbated by stress induced snipping. Don't be ashamed to take a nap. And don't be ashamed to admit that you need one. Quiet relaxing moments may need to be scheduled. They are essential to your well-being and to a happy holiday season.

Practice Realistic Acceptance.

In all this welter of do's and don'ts, realize there are some things (and people) you will never be able to change. You will be a lot calmer if you can realistically accept, what is unchangeable. Holiday get-togethers are not the place to vent over past wrongs.

Emotional Well Being.

Attend to your emotional needs. For many reasons holiday occasions often reopen old wounds. We all experience loss in our lives, and the season can make a recent divorce or death in the family seem unbearable. Take active measures to take care of yourself. Go to your place of worship. Attend to your spirituality. Although it may sound quaint today, attending a religious service can be very healing. Beyond that, talk about what bothers you. Vent your rage. If for whatever reason, you cannot talk about it to a friend or family member, get a therapist or call a telephone counseling line. There is a free one in most cities. Keeping a journal is one of the oldest forms of therapy, and it too is free. Attending to your emotional needs does not mean spilling your guts at the holiday table, it means finding a safe place for support and using it when needed.

Make Peace with Yourself.

This is not a luxury, it t is a necessity. Time-honored methods of nourishing body and soul include; prayer, yoga, meditation, Tai Chi and devotions. On a daily basis, it is one of the best things you can do to maintain both your serenity and your sanity. Even if you only have a few minutes to do it, make peace with yourself every day.

Remember, no matter what day you celebrate, the holiday season is indeed a season. Prepare to take care of yourself throughout. Schedule time to exercise and relax each day, even if it is only for a few brief moments. Be aware of other's needs as well. Be especially aware if anyone close to you has suffered a great loss in the recent past. In many ways the holidays, which are widely heralded as times of great joy, are also times of great sorrow. That too can be overwhelming. Take deep relaxing breaths when you feel emotions rising or tempers flaring. Above all, do not take everything personally. Realize that under stress (and yes the holidays are stressful) people often say things they normally would not. Do not let them get to you and you will all feel better for it. Take care of yourself and the ones you love.

Have a peaceful stress free holiday.

Here are 7 practical methods to combat stress:

1. Express Amusement And Be Happy.
Laugh hard and loud. If you don't have a sense of humor, find someone else who has. Laughter releases endorphins (happy chemicals) from the body, and it helps boost your immune system.

2. Take Control Over Your Time and Schedule.
You'll be much more able to deal with stress if you have a good handle on your job, relationships, and other activities. When you are in control, you are more inclined to stay focused and calm. Plan your time wisely.

Remember to leave room for unexpected events – both negative and positive. Be adaptable in rearranging your agenda. Get up 15 minutes early in the morning. Allow an extra 15 minutes to get to all appointments.

Avoid procrastinating on important or urgent tasks. Whatever needs doing, do it immediately. Do the unpleasant tasks early, so that you won't have to worry about them for the rest of the day. Keep an appointment or record book. Don't just rely on your memory.

Do your tasks one thing at a time at a time. Focus your attention on the present moment, whether it's the person talking to you or the job at hand. This helps you to avoid making errors - which lead to more tension and anxiety. Be patient in waiting. Anxiety caused by impatience can rise up your blood pressure.

Say "no" to requests that you cannot accomplish. Delegate trivial tasks. You must remember that you don't have to do it all yourself. Crack a job into separate tasks and assign them to people with the suitable skills.

3. Work Out
Strive and get some habitual exercise such as brisk walking, swimming or whatever appeals to you. Play a sport you're interested in. Aerobic exercises can considerably reduce the stress factor. Work out also improves sleep and gives you time to think and focus on other things. It also promotes the release of natural soothing chemicals in your body. Do not result to excessive exercise, however, as this may have an adverse effect and might cause more depression.

4. Search Out For A Support Group.
You'll be able to manage stress much better if you have other people helping and supporting you. Did you know that married people and people who are outgoing (always meeting with friends), have considerably low levels of stress in their lives?

Choose positive friends who are not worriers. Friends who continually put you down or talk gloomily about life will increase your anxiety. Invite a good friend to help you talk out a problem and get it off your chest. A long-distance call to an old pal can be great therapy.

Pardon others instead of holding grudges. Slow down your standards – for yourself and others. Don't expect too much. Perfectionism is not the means to happiness. Become more flexible and adaptable to your environment. Communicate clearly with your co-workers and boss. Ask questions. Repeat instructions that you are given. Clarifying directions at the start of a project can save lots of time later rectifying out misunderstandings. Be honest in your dealings with others. Lying and cheating leads to stress.

5. Take Breaths Deeply and Slowly.
Calm down your muscles, escalating your stomach and chest. Exhale slowly. Do it again several times. Follow your breath as it flows in and out. Do not try to have power over it. This is a good way to relax in the midst of any activity. This practice allows you to find a breathing pattern that is natural and relaxing to you.
Make use of this yoga technique: Inhale slowly, counting to eight. Exhale through your mouth, even more slowly, counting to sixteen. Make a sighing sound as you exhale, and feel tension dissolve. Do it again 10 times.

6. Consume Healthy Foods at the Appropriate Time.
Never skip meals, especially breakfast. Get time out to eat heartily no matter how busy you are. Take nutritious snacks to the office, or even the shopping mall. A nutritionally balanced diet is essential to your health and lifestyle. For example, researchers have found that even small deficiencies of thiamin, a B-complex vitamin, can cause anxiety symptoms. Pantothenic acid, another B-complex vitamin, is critical during times of stress. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and large amounts of sweets, which can worsen symptoms of stress.

7. Live Optimistically.
Count your blessings, particularly when everything seems to go wrong. Believe that many other people are living in worse conditions than you are. Don't exaggerate the complexity of your problems. Every problem has a solution. All you need to do is find that solution. Learn to be happy and to enjoy life's blessings. Live one day at a time.

Many children suffer from various forms of stress and in this article I give advice on how parents can help their child during these periods. Their stress can cause them to have nightmares and to lose their self-confidence. I hope you find this article interesting and beneficial.

Children who have nightmares

There are many reasons why children can start to have nightmares. I have two children, both of whom at various stages of their lives wake up crying and upset.

My young son started to have nightmares after watching the film Lord Of The Rings. He really enjoyed watching the film and wanted to watch it on a regular basis and would even re-inact the battles. The film itself is quite long and he would normally be watching it by himself as his mother and I would be busy doing other things.

I thought about why he may have started to have these type of dreams and believed it was due to this film. I then made a point of watching it with him and kept on reassuring him that the people have not actually died and that they were only acting. I even made a point of laughing at some of the more gruesome scenes and by making comments like, as if that would ever happen. This and by also only allowing him to watch the film once a week, helped to stop this period of nightmares.

Children can also develop nightmares after an illness. This can happen after having a period away from school. They may start to worry that they may have fallen behind with their work, or that they may not be able to get back into their crowd of friends. They may also fear that their best friend may have found a new best friend.

In this situation I would advise that when the child is better and before he returns to school that you re-introduce them to the work that they were studying before the illness. You can even ask the teacher to supply some of the work that the child has missed, to help them to catch up. I myself always phone up the parents of my childrens friends and invite their child round for a meal, and to play, the evening before my child is set to return to school.

Therefore when my children are ill, I always say to them not to worry about the work they may miss or about their friends as they know now how I operate etc.

Children who stress

My daughter at one point started to stress because she was not in any of the top groups in the different subjects she was taking at school. She felt like she was a failure and that we would not be proud of her. I advised her that we knew she was giving it her all at school and that as long as she continued to try her best that we would always be proud of her. After all not every child can be in these top sets.

I reminded her that she was in the netball and athletics teams and tried to make her see the positive way of thinking.

She now knows that even when she believes she is unable to perform a certain task that she should still have a go at it. When she makes an error there will always be somebody their to explain where she went wrong, which she can then learn from for the next time.

As parents it is important that we do not criticise our children too often. This can lead to them fearing failure and can lead to them not even attempting to try certain tasks.

Keep them motivated by making homework fun. Praise the child as often as possible, when they complete something well, this builds up their self-esteem. Instead of shouting at the child when they are naughty, try to talk to them as if they were an adult.

In conclusion I always try to treat my own children in a fair and relaxed manner. I want them to know that I am proud of them even if they do not achieve one hundred percent at school. If they have nightmares, I want to work out why this might be and to break whatever cycle is happening. I attempt to work out what each child is worrying about and then try to help them to find a solution.

Stress management requires skills and techniques. These are learned over time in a work environment or through career enhancement courses.

Second, most stress at the office starts at home. Take a look at your personal life. If you can narrow down the issues there as to what is causing the stress you can them begin to work it out slowly. Once things are running better at home they will be better in your work arena, too.

Third, your job and career can be a stressful one. If it is, decide either how you can handle the stress better or think of changing careers. You may need outside help with this decision and this is where a lot of other career enhancement tools come in to play: by providing help and information for this type of decision.

It's also important to know many people experience severe stress in their careers. You are not alone. Career-minded individuals who are focused on success tend to stick with their jobs over the long haul. In order to advance and prove your value when the next round of promotions come, you must be able to deal with stress effectively.

Finally, a few quick tools to help with stress:

1. Avoid Stress

Stay focused on your work. Exceed expectations by demanding excellence from yourself even if no one else does.

2. Be Organized

Keep a day planner and use it!

3. Talk Less

Professionals focus on doing their work. Gossip creates stress. Playing "he said she said" is not only tacky but dangerous. Danger will cause stress.

These little tools will help while you look for larger and better solutions in handling stress on your way to career advancement. There is also career enhancement information for your use at Career Enhancement Basics.

Can stress trigger diseases?

Can stress trigger diseases?

Word Count:

Summary:
This article is a follow-up on the previous article I wrote i.e. Stress and Its Management. It introduces you to the diseases caused by stress and explains how they affect our bodies.

Keywords:
Stress, Stress Trigger Diseases

Article Body:
<b>Stress</b> is defined as the non-specific response of the body to any demands made upon it. Everyday, in every walk of life, we come across stress. As much as people wish for a stress free life, such a task would be impossible to achieve. Stress is a part and parcel of our lives. Unfortunately, stress does not only produce discomfort, if ignored, it can lead to serious chronic illnesses. So what really happens when a person experiences chronic stress?

Our body goes through varies changes in its attempt to cope with stress. Let us examine the bodily processes. When we experiences stress in some part of the body, that part of the body sends a message to the brain via the nerves. Then it passes through the reticular activating system either from or to the limbic system or the thalamus. The limbic system is like the store house of our emotions, to which the thalamus acts like a trigger or a switch, determining what to do with the incoming signals sent by the body. Thus, activating the hypothalamus, this in turn will activate the endocrine system and the autonomic nervous system.

Another way in which the brains will response to a stressor is by activating a part of the brain known as hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system (HPA system). The HPA will activate the production and release of glucocorticolds i.e. steroid hormones, including the primary stress hormone crotisol. This hormone is very important in marshaling systems through out the body to deal quickly with the stress. When the body works to cope with stress, it produces some byproducts. If these byproducts of stress are not dealt with in a productive way, they result in all out physiological reactions or illness and diseases.

Lets us consider some illnesses and diseases. There are many diseases to which the mind makes the body susceptible. These diseases are known as <b>psychosomatic</b> diseases (psyche means mind; soma means body). Let us make this concept clear by an example; Jenny is a 45 year old woman. Her husband passed away, leaving her depressed. Jenny's husband was a kind person and jenny felt it was not fair, and found it hard to cope with her husband's untimely death. A sense of helplessness came over her. Loneliness were her only companion now, there were people who where not surprised at jenny's death just one year after her husband passed away. They officially termed it as death due to heart attack, but to jenny's friends, it was known that jenny died of a "broken heart".

You may know a few people like jenny yourself, people who died or fell chronically ill from sever stress with practically little physically wrong with them. How many times we tell people "it's all in your head". In jenny's case, it was not all in her head. Sometimes when we experience too much emotional stress it results in physical disease, such diseases are known as <b>psychogenic</b> diseases. In psychogenic diseases there is no invasion of  disease producing virus or micro organism, the mind changes the physiology in such a way that it breaks down. On the other hand, diseases occur when the mind makes the body vulnerable to some diseases causing microbes or natural degenerative processes, this is known as a somatogenic disease such as cancer, or asthma, etc. There can be various diseases cause by stress. Let us look at a few specific conditions. One of the common diseases caused by stress is <b>Hypertension</b>. Hypertension also commonly known as high blood pressure is excessive and damaging pressure of the blood against the arterial walls of the blood vessels. If the blood produces too much pressure on the arterial walls, they will rupture. And the blood that was intended to reach a special location will not reach its goal. If the rupture is in the brain it can cause cerebral hemorrhage.  Since blood pressure as well as the serum cholesterol increase during stress there relation between hypertension and stress has long been suspected. Emotional stress is usually a major cause of hypertension. Hypertension can be controlled by medication, but sometimes drugs have their side effects. These side effects with poor habits like smoking and alcoholism can be harmful. To deal with hypertension, alone with medication and improvement in life style, various stress management interventions like learning how to relax, perception interventions, etc. are also essential.

<b>Apoplexy</b>, commonly known as stroke is the lack of oxygen to the brain resulting from rupture or blockage of one of the arteries in the brain. Depending on the site of rupture, it could have its effects like paralysis, speech impairments, or even death may occur. Strokes are related to hypertension, diet and stress. Another disease caused by stress is <b>ulcers</b>. Ulcers are cuts or fissures in the walls of the stomach, during chronic stress norepinphrine secretion causes capillaries in the stomach lining to constrict. This, in turn results in shutting down of the mucosal production which is the protective barrier for the lining in the stomach. When the barrier in the wall of the stomach is lost, the hydrochloric acid breaks down the tissue and sometimes even reaches the blood vessel causing a bleeding ulcer. However, it has been found that there are many other causes of ulcer. Still, stress can exacerbate the conditions in the degenerative track to make ulcers more likely to occur. It can also act as a catalyst in the production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach.

Another painful disease caused by stress is <b>Rheumatoid arthritis</b>. It is the swelling and inflammation in various joints in the body which if continued in its development can be very painful. A normal joint has a synovial membrane. This membrane produces fluids which lubricate the joints, in Rheumatoid arthritis, this membrane secretes excessive fluids. These fluids cause a swelling around the joint. If the development continues then these fluids penetrate into the bone as excessive fluids have no where else to expand, therefore they penetrate the bone. In the last stage it may harm the scar tissue with immobilizes the bone and can result in deformity. Sometimes rheumatoid arthritis is due to hereditary factors known as rheumatoid factors. When under chronic stress, it aggravates the development of this arthritis, especially for people who are prone to it. As seen above, if not paid attention to, stress can have lot of negative consequences. Cancer, backache, TMJ syndrome, asthma, hey fever, tension headaches, migraine headaches and coronary heart diseases to name a few.

Healthy stress is necessary to give direction to every individual's life. So don't go where life takes you, but take life where you are heading.

Buying New Car Blues

Buying New Car Blues is a phenomenon as far as most of us are concerned. Have you ever bought a car? Have you ever dealt with car dealers? If your answer is no, you have got to read this, if your answer is yes, you are going to enjoy reading this.

Article Body:
When we think of buying a new car, we rarely have the initial "buying new car blues", until the thoughts actually begin to come….thoughts of actually having to go through the ugly process of dealing with a dealership.

"Why do we have to go through this," is often one of our first thoughts, as getting the blues is not what we actually desire.  We want this to be an enjoyable experience…one that we will remember in a positive manner for years to come…as we enjoy the new vehicle sitting in our driveway or garage…or better yet as we motor on down the road…feeling the way this new baby takes the corners.

However, there seems to be such a terrible taste in our mouths after we have been through the traditional process in America…which results in the "buying new car blues".

It's awful.  Really it is.  How can you take such a huge occasion in someone's life and turn it into such a miserable experience…well my opinion is you just add the dealership to the equation…that's how.  Awful!

Buying New Car Blues is a phenomenon as far as I am concerned.  You roll over in bed the morning of your purchase.  You kiss your spouse or significant loved one…knowing that today is the day that you will add a new vehicle to the family.  Very exciting indeed.

You pack up the car with the two kids (big mistake as you didn't remember that this process take about 20 hours) and you head on down to the dealership.  You pull up to the lot and are greeted by a big "cheesy" grin from a guy named Gus who claims that today is his first day.

He immediately begins with a line of questioning as if you were being "cross-examined" for a robbery down the street at the local convenience store (mind you…today is his first day).

You find the vehicle that you are interested in, drive it…then the real hell starts.

As you return on your test drive…he throws the corny line out… "Hey…why don't you park the car over there in the sold line"?  Ok, really…I am not 6 years old…and I do realize that there is NO "sold line".

You wander on inside to "give your offer"…your two kids and spouse are being as patient as any humans could possibly be…giving you a quick glance every time and again to ensure that you have not "lost your patience yet".

You sit down in the booth…no calculator…no computers…no TV to pacify the kids…no newspaper…no nothing…and "Gus" begins asking your life story.  Name, Rank and Serial Number please.  87 references…. "And no…we will never call them…it's just for the bank" is his reply.  He then whips out his "4 square"…you know the one…the one by the end of the battle that has 18 different colors of "Sharpie" on it…telling you that you don't know a thing about automobiles…what they cost…and what you should pay.  Talk about demoralizing…and the onslaught of "buying new car blues".

You finally agree to a price…a payment…and are patted on the back from Fred…the CLOSER… (he has been at the dealership for more than 1 day we are sure)…and assisted down the hall to meet "JAKE", the "Business Manager" that is "just going to tie up the paperwork…you know…dot the 'I's' and cross the 'T's'.

Jake starts in on how stupid you would be if you don't buy this and don't buy that…and how your new car is going to brake in half tomorrow…and you better be covered…….sheesh.  ENOUGH!

Buying new car blues!  It is a phenomenon.  What else could you have such great thoughts of…that ultimately turn into such a terrible experience?

Really…I challenge you to find a distant rival.

I advise everyone to pass on this experience all together…as there is a better way…and a way to eliminate the "buying new car blues".
